Volkswagen T25 / T3 Devon Sunrise Camper Model History
Circa 1983 Devon introduced a new model called the T25 / T3 Volkswagen Devon Sunrise. It had a side elevating “Double Top” pop top roof initially. On later models it was also possible to specify either an “Aerospace” elevating roof or a “Hi-top” high top fixed roof option The interior had cupboards along the side behind the drivers seat and the rear seat converted into a 3/4 width double bed. The Devon Sunrise was available with water cooled diesel and petrol engine options. 4) Volkswagen T25 / T3 Devon Sunrise Furniture Specification The Volkswagen T25 / T3 Devon Sunrise layout consisted of: Daytime Layout:

Interior was available in either Golden Dawn or Daybreak Green colour options. 1) Drivers seat. 2) Passenger seat. Photo also shows the extra cost swivel seat with front table option.
3) Rear facing seat with storage under for optional porta potti. With backrest removed it could be used another dining seat.
4) Fold out extension dining seat. 5) Forward facing seat with storage underneath. Seat pulls out to make a large double bed (1842 mm x 1092 mm) 6) Centre table on cranked leg.
7) Wear and stain resistant “Flotex” carpet throughout. 8) Daytime storage area. Cushion is seated on a fibreglass plinth.
9) Vitreous enamel Optimus 8340 two burner cooker with hot plate and grill. Matching sink and drainer with switch controlled electric pump and tap.
10) Electrolux RM 212 two way (gas / 12 volt) refrigerator. Fridge has a built in freezer box.
11) Deep storage locker. 12) Rear wardrobe.
13) Built in 34 litre (7 1/2 gallon) freshwater tank. Tank can be filled by removing it from vehicle and wheeling it to water supply or in-situ. Electric water pump with switch.
Side sliding door.
Other features include: Cupboard storage for two Camping Gas 907 cylinders. Opening sliding window on offside. Fluorescent lighting above kitchen and in the upper bed area. Courtesy lights. All the windows are fully curtained.
5) Options available at extra cost included: Luxury cab trim. Swivel front seat and table package. Porta Potti Model 35 chemical flushing toilet. Mains electric package including split charging system and Devon electrical control panel equipped with fuses, switches for water pump, lights and fridge and a 12 volt outlet plug.

Devon “Double Top” fibreglass roof runs full length of the vehicle. Gas filled struts assist with raising roof, hold the roof in place and take weight when lowering. Roof light with fly screen provides variable ventilation. Fully upholstered bed in roof (?? cm x ?? cm). Two solid based bed mattresses. Can be used as twin beds for children or pushed together to make double bed.

Roof is easy to lift with assistance from four gas struts. Roof can be opened and shut from inside the vehicle. Fully upholstered bed in roof (?? cm x ?? cm). Two solid based bed mattresses. Can be used as twin beds for children or pushed together to make double bed.
Volkswagen T25 / T3 Devon Sunrise Fixed Hightop “Sheldon” and “Hi-Top” Roof Specification Available from circa 1985 onwards. First versions used a “Sheldon” fibreglass roof. I believe later versions used a Devon “Hi-Top” fibreglass roof. Window on passenger side. Roof vent with flyscreen. Lockers built into hightop.
